You may be hearing about the 9 Steps to NG9-1-1 Program – a logical and practical approach that keeps you in the driver’s seat as you move from legacy E9-1-1 to full Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1). We have been sharing the 9 Steps to NG9-1-1 with PSAPs in recent webinars and here is some of the feedback we have received.
In the previous education bulletin we looked at why the first three steps are so important to implement now and the best way to get them accomplished. In this bulletin we want to talk to you about how to make the first 2 steps easy for Calltakers.
Migrate to the VESTA® 9-1-1 solution and ensure Calltakers have an IP ready NG 9-1-1 call handling system that is easy to use and they can customize to make it their own –
Add on the VESTA® SMS solution which is 'inside' the VESTA 9-1-1 system. This means Calltaker workflow for text messages is consistent with voice 9-1-1 calls. As a result there is little to no change for Calltakers in how they handle text notifications and voice calls -
